Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich available for HTC Sensation

HTC makes available through the official channels OTA Android 4.0 update to ICS for HTC Sensation / Sensation XE. The first to receive the update the users were Germans and some Nordic countries.

HTC keeps promises, and yesterday released beginning with Germany and some Nordic countries the official update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Sensation HTC and HTC Sensation XE. 

The update includes version 3.6 of the interface HTC Sense , and Sense 4.0 with functions not reduced as assumed by outside sources.

The update will be made available in the coming days for all HTC Sensation devices. For branded ones may need to wait a few more days. The update will be seen only by those who have not installed a custom ROM, and do not have root access on their device.

For those who already have their rootato Sensation, and want to keep these permits, I recommend to visit daily the Development section of the forum dedicated to the smartphone HTC XDA: a day will definitely be released Custom ROM based on the latest official release. 

After the release of official version, the whole community of developers is awaiting the release of HTC's new kernel source present on the Android 4.0 firmware, the need to build, develop and optimize new Custom ROM, particularly of the AOSP as CyanogenMod 9.

HTC Sensation XE, Sensation Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs Leak

Pocketnow reports that two "release candidate" Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs have been recently leaked for the HTC Sensation XE and the HTC Sensation.This confirms that HTC is working hard on the development of the official Ice Cream Sandwich update for the two smarthones.

The two ROMs are identified with the following tags:

HTC Sensation Gets Android 4.0/Sense 4.0 From The HTC Endeavour/One X RUU

This ROM is a port of the leaked RUU for the HTC Endeavour and boy it didn’t take long did it. Coming from a joint effort involving a whole host of developers and spearheaded by TripNRaVeR the HTC Sensation is being treated to an exclusive look for the user who are rooted and ready to flash a custom ROM. You must realise as well that this is a developer preview ROM, it has bugs and it maybe quite slow, remember the development and help from others will continue to bring the HTC Sensation with this ROM along to getting you the users what you want. Official confirmation:Android 4.0 for all HTC Sensation smartphones

HTC reaffirmed the upcoming release of the ICS 4.0 update for the entire range of  Sensation smartphones, also including the Sensation XL. The information is contained in a press release announcing the availability of the HTC Sensation white staining from 1 March in the Netherlands.

HTC Sensation, Sensation Sensation XE and XL will soon be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich.The update procedure, according to what is reported in the press release, may follow the same procedure for all three  mentioned smartphones.

From what we read in the press release,it seems that the HTC Sensation White will be marketed in the Netherlands with Android 4.0 pre-installed.
