NPD Group has published the latest data on the distribution of current operating systems for smartphones for the U.S. market and the report shows a system Android still in the midst of its growth at the expense of his arch rival iPhone OS since the beginning of the year shown a continuous decline, yielding market share to the Google platform.

The first quarter of 2012 saw a net gain by Android, which has risen from 49% to 61%, but iPhone has had the opposite effect down from 41% to 29%, percentage shares virtually ceded to the Android platform. With regard to systems of Microsoft and RIM have been recorded changes and both have maintained the same percentage stable.
Much more substantial changes we will have them in the second half of the year, with the announcement by Apple's new iPhone 5 , the launch of Galaxy S3 in the US and the arrival of all the other high-end handsets that are not available currently in USA,like the LG Optimus 4X, the Huawei Ascend or Sony Xperia GX.
