Google at MWC 2012 has shared some numbers

Google is attending the Mobile World Congress where he staged a huge area and to promote it (not that there is anyone in the world of technology that Android does not know), both as a show of force. On the occasion of 'opening event, the data have been published on the spread of Android, the first by a post on Google + and then with a post on the official blog.

The most impressive is that the daily activations , which is around 850,000 units. Nearly one million Android smartphones are activated every day and the rate of growth seems destined not to stop there. More and more manufacturers adopt Android, which is now installed on nearly 300 million devices. Another extremely interesting figure is the total number of apps on the market in a year has tripled from 150,000 to 450,000 and with over a billion downloads monthly. It therefore seems most definitely overcome the mistrust of developers, touted by the competition in recent years and Google is keen to stress: the '  Android ecosystem is stronger than ever
