REVIEW: Nokia 603 - Features Fun, Attractive Prices

Amid fierce competition smartphone operating system, Nokia presents the latest products based on Symbian Belle. Equipped with qualified specifications such as 3.5-inch screen, 1GHz processor and a 5MP camera capable of recording high definition video, the range of the price of the Nokia 603 is around USD200, making it an attractive alternative in the medium segment. So what are the advantages?

Design

Dimensions: 5.71 x 11:35 x 1:27 cm; weighs 109 grams; full touchscreen; plastic material; microUSB port, 3.5 mm audio port; the lock; volume rocker, shutter button; (around phones from the top side) .3 buttons (call, menu , end / power)

Physically felt the resemblance between the Nokia 603 with other Nokia smartphones running on different systems, Lumia 710. It's just that Nokia 603 has a slightly smaller dimension than cousins are.

At the front, available in black and white color options, while there are more options for the back cover include fuchsia, green, yellow, blue, black and white.

Screen

IPS LCD capacitive touch screen, 16 million colors, HVGA (360x640 pixel) 3.5-inch, Nokia ClearBlack display

Although not as extensive, screen Nokia 603 has a number of advantages. Among smartphone uses IPS LCD panel with brightness level (brightness) up to 1000 nits which is owned Nokia 701.

ClearBlack display technology in a typical Nokia phone also minimizes reflections on the screen so that it remains convenient to use under the sun light.

Nokia 603 screen also has a high contrast and wide viewing angles. The only drawback to the phone screen is only on the resolution, new and even then it will feel when the user wants to read a small article such as opening an internet site.

Operating System and UI

Symbian 3 Belle

By default Symbian on Nokia 603 Belle has 4 pieces homescreen with different wallpaper on each homescreen. Users can add up to 6 homescreen to overwhelmed by the number of shortcuts and widgets. Similar to Android, Symbian Belle also has some sort of notification tray that can be accessed by pulling from the side of the screen with the touch of a finger.

Navigation a bit confusing at the beginning, because the Nokia 603 only has a home button to return to the main menu. This button can also be used to display any application that is running in the background and allows the user to terminate the application.

For other purposes navigation back to the previous example are a virtual button back left corner of the screen.

The main menu appears much better than the previous Symbian filled with folders and subfolders are confusing. All applications are held at the Nokia 603 presented directly in the main menu. Users can integrate multiple applications in a folder by pressing the menu if the chill right corner of the screen.

Hardware

1 GHz processor, GPU 2D/3D graphics HW accelerator with OpenVG1.1 and OpenGL ES 2.0, Memory: 2 GB internal, external microSSD up to 32GB, 512 MB RAM, 1 GB ROM

With a processor speed 1GHz and 512MB RAM, Symbian Belle runs smoothly on the Nokia 603. Nokia 603 has 2GB of internal storage space, but only 340 MB are available to users.

To expand memory, microSD slot available for expansion up to 32GB. MicroSD cards are available free of charge with a capacity of 2GB on the sales package.

Default Applications

Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Nat Geo, Bounce Boing Battle, Youtube, Vlingo, Shazam, Quickoffice, Nokia Drive.

This list does not include several other applications that are not less interesting. Nokia Drive for example, functions like a GPS application. Users can also do the editing on photos taken with the camera Nokia 603 using photo editor application. To add another application, available market the Nokia Store.

Camera Photo

5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, fixed focus, Geo-tagging, face detection

To maximize the catch, the Nokia 603 provides six scene selection modes 4 color effect options. Users also can adjust contrast, exposure, white balance, light sensitivity (ISO) and the sharpness.

The zoom control is located on the left of the screen, is to capture the moment the user can press the shutter physical or virtual viewfinder available on the right.

Color representation on the Nokia 603 camera fairly accurate. It's just the lack of auto focus feature allows the camera produces images that lack of focus when photographing objects within a certain range (below 40cm).

The camera phone also has a good dynamic range to prevent objects visible deficiency or excess light.

Video Recorder

The maximum resolution of 720p @ 30fps

From camera images, the user can switch to video recording mode using the switch on the top right corner of the viewfinder. As in the photo camera mode, you can apply one of four color effects options. The most interesting, of course the ability of this phone that can record high definition video (HD).

Internet Browser

Multi-tabs, Flash Lite 4.0, bookmarks, history, downloads, feed, send the link.

With a high specification and operating systems that have been optimized, surfing the internet with the Nokia 603 to be an interesting experience, especially compared with the previous series Nokia.

Unfortunately this phone does not support Adobe Flash so that users can not play videos or playing games on a particular site. The phone is only equipped with Flash Lite 4.0 which makes it even capable of displaying flash-based ads.

Connectivity

GPRS Class 33, EDGE Class 33, HSDPA 14.4 Mbps, HSUPA 5.76 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, microUSB v2.0 NFC, USB On-the-go support

Another advantage lies in the connectivity, the Nokia 603. The phone is equipped with NFC technology (Near Field Communication) which will allow users to exchange data between devices that have similar features, paired with accessories such as Bluetooth headsets, and even later to make payment.

Nokia also packed in an interesting feature by connecting it to the game Angry Birds, where a certain level can only be played after the user uses NFC to connect to other Nokia phones or accessories.

(+)

• Symbian Belle

• complete connectivity

• Hardware qualified

• Many congenital Applications

(-)

• Minus Adobe Flash

• fixed focus camera

Conclusion

With a variety of color options for the back cover, the price of the middle class, and a number of interesting applications default game, it looks like the Nokia 603 targeting the youth segment. Qualified specification of the phone is capable of properly supporting the performance of Symbian Belle.

Also owned the NFC technology makes this phone more attractive and viable alternative seems a touch-screen smartphone with a relatively more affordable price.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review - Today we’re going to give you a complete Blackberry Curve 9380 review. We will be talking about the BB Curve 9380 based on its form factor and design, processor and graphics, keyboard and display, and other lovely stuffs. Blackberry Curve 9380 Review

The new Blackberry Curve 9380 was announced recently, along with its bold brother the BB Bold 9790. It is the first all touchscreen Curve, with a lovely design and an affordable price tag.

But how good is this BB Curve 9380? Checkout the complete Blackberry Curve 9380 review after the break, and share your thoughts in the comment form.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review :

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Display Screen
For most people, the BB Curve 9380 display is acceptable. However, there are other phones with better display on the market. Don’t get me wrong, it is bright, vivid and responsive, but  it is not comparable with other smartphones that has a higher and better resolution. For a comparison, the BB Curve 9380 display is equal to BB Torch 9800.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Processor and GPU
Being a curve series, the BB Curve 9380 got a relatively lower processor speed compared to Bold or Torch series. As we have told you in Blackberry Curve 9380 specs and features, it comes with a 800MHz processor (the same with older Curve 9360). It is supported with a 512 MB of RAM. As far as performance, thanks to the effectiveness of Blackberry 7 OS we were quite pleased by how smooth it is. However, when browsing the internet we feel that it is a tad bit slower than the ones with faster processor.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Camera
HD video recording is not available in the BB Curve 9380, and to be frank we are missing this feature. That being said, the photos taken with the BB Curve 9380′s 5 megapixel camera are decent, but the lack of autofocus is a bit bugging me.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Battery
The BB Curve 9380 comes with the same battery on BB Bold 9900 and BB Torch 9860, which was the JM-1 1230mAh battery. The performance? Well, it was a good and sturdy battery. With moderate use, I still got my BlackBerry Curve 9380 review unit outside the yellow area at the end of the day.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Design
We love the BB Curve 9380 design. It is a pretty small yet pretty phone. The design is all curvy with beautiful backside. It is also relatively light but doesn’t feel cheap at all. Although the design might not be as luxurious as the BB Bold 9900, it is a good attempt from RIM to show off their first all touchscreen Blackberry Curve.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Hands On

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review – Keyboard
Without the famous Blackberry physical keyboard, the Curve 9380 tries its best to give optimum virtual keyboard experience. And in terms of usability, it is not bad. Our Blackberry Curve 9380 review unit landscape keyboard is great and efficient, but we didn’t really like the tightness of the portrait virtual keyboard.

Blackberry Curve 9380 Review - So there it is, my experience with BB Curve 9380. We also have the Blackberry Curve 9380 pros and cons for you! Share some comments about your experience under, and perhaps about this Blackberry Curve 9380 review !

The LG KS360 Review

The LG KS360 is a funky looking mobile phone from LG, with a full QWERTY keyboard. It is a phone made for the masses who like to text in large volumes. It is quite a large phone, measuring 101.5 x 51 x 16.8 mm and weighs a fairly heavy 108 grams. The front of the phone is dominated by the large 2.4 inch screen, and there are a few call related keys beneath it, as well as a rather unique looking NavPad. There is also a very clever little button (that looks a little like a calculator) that controls whether you turn on or off the touch screen. To type sms’s and emails in mass, you can then slide out the full QWERTY keyboard, which looks equally as cool and funky looking.

The music player will support all popular formats, and has 15 mega bytes of internal memory. However this can be increased by using a MicroSD card, and there is of course an FM Radio.
The camera is pretty simple but will take reasonable pictures. There are 2 mega pixels, with fixed focus, and almost no advanced features. Application-wise there are not any smartphone features. There is no GPS, no 3G and no Wifi. There are of course the basics such as calendar, alarm, personal organiser etc. The coolest feature is being able to switch on and off the touch screen, which allows you to use that really clever full qwerty keyboard. Internet connection is pretty good using EDGE, bluetooth and a USB jack.

Overall, the LG KS360 is a modern looking, full qwerty phone that is made for the texter. This really is a great phone to get if you want to stand out from the crowd.

LG Viewty - Mobile Phone Review

In the world of mobile phones, another new power player is the LG Viewty, this phone is packed full of a mass of high tech goodies. You start out by just viewing the LG Viewty and you can see the impressiveness of the 3” touch screen display, the resolution is a wonderful 240 x 400 pixels. Looking at the HSDPA you have a high 3.6 Mbps capability, and a stereo Bluetooth and the intriguing and wonderful 5 mega pixel camera that offers autofocus, and you are also able to capture video at 120 fps.

The LG Viewty is by far packed full of great features, and with its slick look you are sure to want to get one yourself. In fact the camera also has a strobe flash, and a focus assist beam to get those pictures looking great. In fact the LG Viewty also offers a secondary video camera that you can use for video calls. The Viewty also offers TV out support, there is also an original stylus dongle. Also available on the LG Viewty is the ability to play DivX video playback.

You always have disadvantages with any new product that hits the market, and unfortunately the LG Viewty is no exception to that rule. The LG Viewty has no hot swap memory card capability; with the stylus it's more inconvenient than it is a plus. With the use of file management the system slows when the memory card is beginning to fill up. This is the same with anything that gets close to having the memory full. If you operate the zooming jog wheel it will get in the way of the lens.

The LG Viewty comes in other colors too, check out the fancy looking red one. The LG Viewty has been compared to other newer phones out is seems to be as impressive and as highly sophisticated as others that are on the market.

When looking at the front panel of the LG Viewty you will see that there are only three hardware keys. The green and red send and end keys and the cancel C key. The battery is outstanding in the LG Viewty and it can last a full two to two and half days. This is an amazing amount of time.

The LG Viewty is an excellent phone; it makes the choice of what phone to get out of all the new ones a bit more difficult. With so many choices that offer so many features, you really have to go more on what you feel looks best to you. But you should easily put the LG Viewty up in the top five if not higher when trying to decide.

The phone again is very stylish looking and if you get another color like red for your LG Viewty it could make a nice change to whatever phone you might be carrying around right now. So go to the store and check out the LG Viewty!

The Nokia N96 16gb Review

Today I finally got a chance to review the Nokia’s Flagship Phone – The Nokia N96 16GB.

The first thing that I noticed with this phone is the smoothness of its front surface. The buttons are embedded giving it a clean and glossy look. Even the video conference camera is hardly noticeable at first glance.

It is noticeably taller and wider than its successful predecessor, the N95. But the thickness and weight has been significantly reduced making it convenient to carry around and place inside your front pocket.

The 2.8” QVGA with 16 million colors is one of the best cell phone screens I have ever seen in the Nokia N-series line. The colors and images are very vivid and the picture quality makes the user interface comes to life. This phone is definitely designed for rich multi-media viewing pleasures.

Watching movies on a mobile phone has never been this good. As soon as I slide the D-pad up, the screen rotated to a landscape mode giving me a full-widescreen display. The dedicated media buttons are conveniently placed on the left side of the D-Pad and illuminate with a white glow as you touch it. The small flip-stand situated the camera lens is well located and perfectly angled when placing the phone on top of my desk while watching broadcast TV or listening to internet radio.

The 5 Megapixel Carl Zeiss optic camera with dual flash LED makes a direct statement that the N-series still holds its ground when it comes to digital photography. The N96 is obviously one of the best camera phones in the industry.

The enormous16GB storage capacity guarantees that it can easily accommodate huge collections of pictures, music albums, movies, television shows, N-Gage games, and hundreds of applications. And if it is still not enough, you can still upgrade up to 24GB!

Being a Quad-Band phone with 3G, EGPRS, EDGE, and WiFi support, voice and data communication will never be a problem anywhere you go. The built-in GPS navigation with turn-by-turn directional system makes it a perfect companion for travelers and drivers. The Nokia Maps are very clear and with the N96 highspeed connection, you can quickly search and download information about points of interests like hotels, restaurants, airports, etc.

Overall, the Nokia N96 is a very powerful communication and entertainment gadget that comes in a very modernly sleek package.

Sony Ericsson C901 review

The Sony Ericsson C901, also known as the Filippa is a new Cyber-Shot cell phone that Sony plans to release this year. The cell phone features a 5 mega pixel camera and joins the ranks of other Sony Cyber-Shot cell phones. Many are considering this cell phone a less intricate version of the Sony Ericsson C902, which is well-liked but somewhat expensive.

Features of the Sony Ericsson C901

The camera that comes onboard the Sony Ericsson C901 has many features and is considered to be on the higher end in the cell phone world. It has Xenon flash functionality for getting rid of dark backgrounds, and also comes equipped with auto focus to help atomically focus for those hard to take shots. Another neat tool is its face and Smile detection functionality which make it much easier to get a good shot of friends and loved ones. A handy aspect that has been included in this and other models is picture editing software that makes it possible to edit photos directly on the phone right after you take them. This can be a real time saver as it means users don't have to download pictures to their desktop computers to edit them. Pictures can be made ready to go and uploaded to blogs or sites.

The Sony Ericsson C901 has a satellite GPS system that allows for geotagging. This allows users to mark locations where they are or photos have been taken. The phone comes equipped to handle Google Maps which is a free application to help you get where you need to be.

This model also features an FM radio for the user's listening pleasure. It comes with Bluetooth communications software as well. Email and instant messaging capabilities are nicely integrated for those who are on the go. There is also a blogging application that can be utilized to update your blog or site. A couple other neat features of the phone are the motion controlled games that can be played and also the You Tube application.

The phone boasts a 9.5 hour talk time with the battery and 430 hours of standby time.

Appearance of the Sony Ericsson C901

The cell phone has a sleek design and will be available in three different colors: black, sincere silver and precious peach. The display screen on the phone is 2.2 inches and is made of scratch-resistant material. The screen also serves as an appropriate sized view finder for when the camera is in use. All of the function buttons and the keypad are located together on one side of the phone for easy access.

The dimensions of the phone are 4.1 x 1.8 x 0.5 inches with a 13mm thickness. Weighing in at 107 g. it is a lightweight model that is convenient for people who don't want a big camera phone to carry around.

The Sony Ericsson C901 is scheduled for released by Sony sometime in April. It is compatible with all four of the major cell phone networks.

A Review Of The Sony Ericsson W705 Mobile Phone

When you push down the slider on the Sony Ericsson W705 you will reveal a keypad which feels great to use. When you begin to use it you will feel how lightweight of the handset – just 98 grams the Sony Ericsson W705 is. The large 2.4” screen dominates the front panel and the simple design of the buttons below it, each sharing several features. There is a dedicated Walkman button on the top end of the casing, making the music player easy to turn on and off. If you like an easy to use phone which won't take ages to learn how to use, then the Sony Ericsson W705 could and should be the phone you go for.

The most prominent feature of the Sony Ericsson W705 is the Walkman part of the phone. Enhancements such as Clear Stereo and Clear Bass subtly tweak the sound, along with the usual equaliser, to your liking and the external stereo speakers provide excellent sound even when the phone is sitting on a tabletop. Shake Control is included for those times when identifying the right button is awkward – when you're on a treadmill for example – and the phone responds to direction based shakes to change tracks, shuffle and even raise or lower the volume. The built-in accelerometer also takes care of the automatic screen rotation and counts your steps in the step counter.

There are also plenty of connection options available on the Sony Ericsson W705. The W705 is a 3G handset and has support for HSDPA, EDGE and GPRS data connections, however when greater speed is called for, the Wi-Fi connection is there for you to use. Sony Ericsson's excellent Access NetFront browser will take care of your web browsing needs, plus you can subscribe to RSS feeds and watch YouTube videos thanks to the dedicated application. The 3.2 megapixel camera lens isn't hidden away under the slider, so you can take pictures holding the phone like you would a camera. It's a shame its fixed focus, but the dual LED flash helps indoor shots and ultimately, you are not buying a Walkman phone for its picture taking ability really. Cell-based geo-tagging and picture blogging are also available and rounding out the media entertainment features are an FM RDS radio and a video player on the Sony Ericsson W705.

Summary of the Sony Ericsson W705
If you're after for a stylish looking mobile phone to double as a music player, then the beautifully clear and detailed sound provided by the Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman could be just the ticket for you. Call quality sounds just as good, the features are impressive and the range of connectivity including Wi-Fi makes the Sony Ericsson W705 an excellent everyday mobile companion. The camera on this phone is not great, but it’s the music function which is the main selling point and should still be able to take some pretty handy snaps with it. If you after something with more camera ability. Then consider waiting for the Nseries Nokia N86 mobile phone, which is also due out soon.
