After much research and comparisons between the two platforms used in the mobile world to get a nice infographic that measures the satisfaction of users by taking into account only the ratings and comments that the same user are released in their Market after using about 140 thousand applications.

Google at MWC 2012 has shared some numbers

Google is attending the Mobile World Congress where he staged a huge area and to promote it (not that there is anyone in the world of technology that Android does not know), both as a show of force. On the occasion of 'opening event, the data have been published on the spread of Android, the first by a post on Google + and then with a post on the official blog.

The most impressive is that the daily activations , which is around 850,000 units. Nearly one million Android smartphones are activated every day and the rate of growth seems destined not to stop there. More and more manufacturers adopt Android, which is now installed on nearly 300 million devices. Another extremely interesting figure is the total number of apps on the market in a year has tripled from 150,000 to 450,000 and with over a billion downloads monthly. It therefore seems most definitely overcome the mistrust of developers, touted by the competition in recent years and Google is keen to stress: the '  Android ecosystem is stronger than ever

Report: Android malware up 3,325% in 2011

Posted by ~ Erch ~ on Friday, February 24, 2012 | 11:45

We are used to seeing massive growth rates with Android, but I am sure this is one statistic Google will not be touting in their quarterly reports.

In 2011, we saw unprecedented growth of mobile malware attacks with a 155 percent increase across all platforms. Most noteworthy was the dramatic growth in Android Malware from roughly 400 samples in June to over 13,000 samples by the end of 2011. This amounts to a cumulative increase of 3,325 percent. Notable in these findings is a significant number of malware samples obtained from third-party applications stores, which do not enjoy the benefit or protection from Google’s newly announced Android Market scanning techniques.

The report also notes that malware is becoming more sophisticated, with malware like Droid KungFu using encrypted payloads to avoid detection and Droid Dream disguising itself as a legitimate app.

Transparent Screen is basically a software that will make it completely transparent interface of your phone, sending in the background see what your camera, enabling you to walk down the street using your smartphone and not stumble in any manhole or maybe, why not? The software is totally free and in our test was run pretty well only in very low resolutions, however, more than enough to understand what is happening in front of us.
Maybe you will never use a similar software, but certainly worth a try.

Google introduces Bouncer, a tool able to detect malicious code into applications

Posted by ~ Erch ~ on Friday, February 3, 2012 | 01:05

It feels more and more about viruses, trojans and malware in general circulating via infected applications in the Android system. In recent months the problem has become increasingly serious and even Google has taken its required actions by removing the offending application developers and blocking it frequently is not enough.
So here come directly from the Mountain View further solution in the form of software tools that will provide better control against this growing threat. It's called Bouncer and is a tool that automatically scans the code of each application before being loaded in the market.
The tool performs all operations in a few seconds in order not to delay the market entry process in any application and if you remove the developer will not have to worry about as Google itself will examine the code and determine the validity of the application.
This is certainly an important step and very mature for Android Market is often brought up for being too "open" to the world of developers leave out the necessary safety measures, which should now be guaranteed in the same respect and integrity.
