HTC's Windows Phone 8 roadmap unveiled - Three new devices coming ( Zenith , Rio and Accord )

Posted by ~ Erch ~ on Thursday, June 21, 2012 | 13:56

The statements of CEO Peter Chou on the arrival of the new Windows Phone 8 smartphones by the end of the year quickly followed the first rumors about the composition consisting of line-up . According to recent rumors the range  HTC Windows Phone 8 devices may be formed of three models: Zenith, the top end of the range,Accord,medium-high end smartphones, and close to the line-up, Rio , the model medium-low.
The models name is a code and, as often happens, it will change with the commercial version of the device.
Recalling that the information that we bring to those not yet final, we move immediately to examine the alleged technical specifications of each model after the break.
Zenith as, in advance, will be the top of the range of 8 to HTC Windows Phone. The specifications would include:
  • Display 4.7 "SuperLCD 2 720p
  • Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (unspecified)
  • 8 Megapixel Camera
  • Connectivity 42 Mbps HSPA +
Close behind are the Accord, the model of a medium-high, characterized by:
  • Display 4.3 "LCD Super 2 720p
  • Dual-core processor Qualcom MSM8260a (likely because of variation)
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 8 megapixel camera with support for 1080p video
  • Connectivity 42 Mbps HSPA +
  • NFC support
Close the Accord is Rio which is mid to low end device ,which specifications could include:
  • Display: 4 "WVGA
  • Processor Qualcomm MSM8227 (given susceptible of variation)
  • 512 MB of RAM
  • HSPA 14.4Mbps
  • 5 megapixel camera with support for video in 720p
The line-up in the complex is consistent with the approach used by HTC's recent production of the line terminals Android HTC One. The relationship between Zenith and Accord are modeled in some way those between HTC and HTC X One One D: same camera, different form factor, quad-core devices for high-end dual-core to medium-high. The Rio would have a positioning similar to that of HTC One V.
Deliveries of all three devices are expected by year end: Rio and Accord may be submitted in October , while the top of the range the term was generally identified in the ' last quarter of 2012 . Obviously the exact launch date of the three smartphone will be confirmed in the coming months and will be closely linked to the development of the platform Windows Phone 8.

Posted by ~ Erch ~ on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 | 02:27

Peter Chou has recently returned to reassure investors by confirming the validity of the current business strategy and promising better financial results during the second half of the year. The CEO of HTC has released the reassuring statements just mentioned at the annual meeting with shareholders that was held yesterday in Taoyuan (Taiwan).Remember that HTC in early June has touched down sales forecasts for the second quarter , following a demand from the new HTC One line below expectations in the European market and the  block imports in the USA. The negative period, according to recent statements by Chou, should cease in the second half of 2012.
Chou asked time and confidence to investors from HTC:
"The company's strategy and direction is correct, we need a bit more time"
"The direction and strategy of the company is correct, we need a little more 'time'
It 's always the CEO of HTC, which identifies a useful resource for ending the crisis in emerging markets:
"Emerging Markets Such as India and China are very good opportunities for us as we are planning to release models That Are Suited to Those Who are using a smartphone for the first time"
"Emerging markets like India and China account for us good opportunities since we plan to construct models suitable for those who use a smartphone for the first time "
HTC has already demonstrated during 2012 to focus on emerging markets, releasing the entry-level devices distributed by the three major Chinese operators . This is definitely interesting device in anticipation of a possible marketing in Europe, with the ability to manage two SIM cards simultaneously.
Reassurance to Peter Chou were added those of the current president of HTC, Cher Wang has reconfirmed the commitment to overcome the great challenges that lie ahead on the horizon to return to being competitive.
Signs of recovery should be detectable as early as the second half of 2012 according to company management.

Rumor| HTC is planning a new Surround?

Posted by ~ Erch ~ on Saturday, March 31, 2012 | 12:51

The site PatentBold, has made public the new plans for a new model from HTC . The images remind us immediately of a Windows Phone from the first generation of Taiwanese home or the HTC Surround , a terminal distributed in the U.S. through AT & T and other countries, perhaps not very popular but with the particularity of possessing an innovative design and excellent Speaker slides .
The new images depict a device on the same line of surround sound, but this time, there are two boxes , one right and one left on the phone (when held in landscape) which appear not to shrink contratio predecessor. Speakers that are housed in the rear part with the center the useful kickstand (a must for this type of device).
Remember that HTC has brought Beats Audio technology to its Android device, technology that offers excellent audio quality through headphones, so it is possible that this feature will be added to HTC next Windows Phones.
Well be, therefore, this type of initiatives by OEMs demonstrating once again that is not necessarily need to customize the Windows interface to launch smartphones that will be  exclusive and differentiated.
